Under the directive of Strad Managers or Supervisors, the Matting Operator will be responsible for the set up and servicing of Strad Inc. products within the operating branches and remote locations across to us . the matting operators will need to become familiar with all Strad product lines , this position will also require remote travel from branch to branch along with travel to remote operations in a variety of locations across the US with minimal notifications or lead time on project starts.
Major Responsibilities
- Install and remove allocated Strad assets from customer sites
- Operate and maintain matting installation and service equipment (i.e. Loaders, grapple and hoes).
- Willing to learn or be taught all aspects of Strad Branch / Field level operations of correctly installing removal and operations Strad equipment.
- Responsible for service, repair and maintenance of Strad’s equipment such as (but not limited to):
- Surface Equipment (400 Bbl Tanks, containment berms, pumps and Vac’s)
- Rig Matting ( composite, Steel and wood)
- E&I Matting ( composite wood timber clt crane)
- Comply to all safety rules and regulations.
- Willing to Repair and wash mats during slow times across Strad operating areas and yards.
- Will require Travel to all to locations throughout the US for matting and service projects. Often weeks at a time depending on scope of project.
- This position will required employee to travel for up several weeks at a time across Strad US based operations and customer site to service as needed by operations and work load.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Set up, service, repair and maintenance of equipment outlined above.
- Travel as required to service equipment to meet customer’s needs.
- Communicate with Strad employees to ensure operations flow seamlessly. This will involve communicating with managers Dispatch, supervisor and other Field Service Technicians.
- Will need the ability to fill out appropriate field paperwork by sheet or electronic means as needed by cell phone or computer
- Follow Company Policies and Procedures and adhere to Company Safety Standards and Safety Manual.
Knowledge, Education, Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment.
- Experience with setup, repair and maintenance of equipment.
- General mechanical skills.
- Ability to travel out of town for extended periods of time.
- Desire to provide top service for customers.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills; able to relate well with customers and coworkers.
- Flexible with time scheduling to meet customer needs.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Clean drivers abstract.
- Safety courses and related tickets (OSHA10, First Aid, H2S) Strad will provide training as needed.
- Must be able to work alone.
Physical Requirements:
- Be free of drugs and/or alcohol.
- Requires strenuous activity – walking, bending, crouching and standing for long periods of time; must also be able to lift up to 100lbs.
- Must be mentally alert at all times.
- Ability to drive for extended periods of time safely in varying weather conditions.
- Work in outdoor weather conditions in wet and extreme cold.
